Chicon Street Poets was founded with a simple goal: give the Austin literary scene a space where anybody could show up and share their writing. Since our founding in 2015 we've grown into a literary arts organization that hosts free monthly open mics, book launches, reader events and more!
Living Room Lit: The Coziest Open Mic in Austin
Our monthly open mic is CSP's oldest and best-attended event. On the second Tuesday of every month we feature writers of all ages, identities and experience levels, provide a space to drink and mingle with other writers, and award prizes for our famous haiku contest! Each reader gets five minutes to share any type of writing they'd like, and reading and attendance are always free. For more info check out our event calendar.
